The planned expansion of the building entails the addition of new floors to enhance its offerings. The fourth and fifth floors will be expanded to accommodate extra hostel units and communal spaces, while a new sixth floor will be added, providing more hostel units, shared lounges, and amenities. ​

The proposed development involves the erection of part one, part two and part three storey upward extension above Friendship House to provide a mix of single and double ensuite bedrooms totaling 62 no. Sui Generis (Hostel) Accommodation Units, with additional bike and bin stores. It seeks to enhance the existing use of the site and provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents.
